Travel costs to get to you - NDIS

If you are an NDIS client, travel will be discussed with you and will be charged in line with the NDIS Pricing Guide which may include travel wages and kilometres.

What do travel costs include? This covers fuel, car maintenance and wear and tear, minor repairs and wages.

We aim to keep our costs as low as possible, including our travel costs to reach you. The National Home Care Packages Averages show the average amount charged by providers per kilometre is $1.30. Please see 'how we compare' under the documents menu which provides a comparison of travel costs.

Central Cairns suburbs:

For clients living in this area, travel is $10.00 per service. Suburbs within Central Cairns include Kanimbla, Manoora, Mooroobool, Manunda, Westcourt, Earville, Redlynch, Freshwater, Brinsmead, Edge Hill, Cairns North, Aeroglen, Caravonica.

North Cairns suburbs:

For clients living in this area, travel is $15.00 per service. Suburbs within North Cairns include Smithfield, Machans Beach, Holloways Beach, Yorkeys Knob, Kewarra Beach, Clifton Beach, Trinity Beach, Palm Cove.

South Cairns suburbs:

For clients living in this area, travel is $15.00 per service. Suburbs within South Cairns include Mt. Sheridan, Bentley Park, Woree, Bayview Heights, White Rock, Edmonton, Mt. Peter, Gordonvale.

Areas outside of Cairns:

Where travel is outside of the Cairns area, travel will be individually quoted and may include wages and kilometre charges at the relevant ATO rate. There may be other mitigating factors such as whether there are other clients to be serviced on the same day and the length of service. Where we are able to split costs between clients, we will aim to do this. Areas which are outside of Cairns include but not limited to Kuranda, Speewah, Koah, Mareeba, Atherton, Tolga, Aloomba, Babinda, Innisfail, Mission Beach, Mossman, Port Douglas, Craiglie. 

Social support kilometres:

At any time a client is transported in a workers vehicle, kilometres are charged at $1.15 per kilometre which is below the National Home Care Packages Average of $1.30 per kilometre.
